Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins This was such a a well constructed book, a complete opposite to Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. I do think it’s necessary to read both, unfortunately, which is real kicker as I found BOSAS to be an absolute bore. I still kind of struggled with how that one

Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry Like all EmHens, I loved this. Especially the story of Margaret, and how it’s done so that we get to be emersed rather than just dialogue exposition. I loved the main couple as well, and Alice’s complicated relationship with her mother. Julia Whalen brings this book to life,

Say You’ll Remember Me by Abby Jimenez zzzzzzzzz I see why people haven’t been liking this. It’s very 2024 and 2025 with references to match. I think it will age poorly and even now gave me full body cringe. It’s also basically insta love, he asks her out in the first 6% of the novel.

Since We Fell by Dennis Lehane If I’m being honest to only listened to this for Julia Whalen. Her voice is incredible, a true talent. She’s always a 5/5. The book itself was fine, a good pallette cleanser, but a bit forgettable. The romance part was decent though surprisingly. 3/5

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho I consumed this book so fast. It’s got a way of sucking me in. I’m not super into fate or destiny or any of that, but I loved this story. It was a classic that was super quick and easy to read, while having depth as well. 5/5

Stolen tongues by Felix Blackwell Fast paced and interesting, I did enjoy reading this. I will say the dialogue and backstory parts were pretty heavy handed and cliche, but it’s horror, I don’t have high expectations. Mostly I want scares and tension, and this delivered. I had the urge to finish it in a single

Ballad of songbirds and snakes by Suzanne Collins This felt unnecessary to me. At no point did I feel for him. There were some interesting moments earlier on. But being stuck with Snow as our MC kind of ruined any fun for me. I don’t feel this added anything to the world, though this could

Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia Overall I loved this book, the story was so cool. The pace was a bit overly slow in the beginning and took me a long time to become invested. The vibes were perfect though, the atmosphere she created is well done. Definitely reminded me of a mix between the yellow

Let Us Descend by Jesmyn WardThis was a hard listen, but poetic. I don’t think I could’ve read the book as the formatting would’ve driven me crazy. I found myself getting a bit lost and distracted by the constant present of this spirit. I understand why a character would need to shift their focus under

The Girls by Emma Cline Obsessed immediately. I knew within the first 20 pages this would be a 5 star book. Cline’s writing is so immersive, I feel like I am absorbed into another world. For the girls that feel like they aren’t great at anything and look to other girls for validation. The girls
