The ideas in this are interesting and there’s something good. Might just be Julia Whalen.
But there’s also so much repetition and I got bored by the 30% mark. The pacing was off. I didn’t really love any characters or the plot as we were told it. This was trying to be handmaid’s tale, but it didn’t really go allow me to think, it kind of fed me all the information and I just let it wash over me.
I wanted really badly to love this, but there wasn’t enough for me to grasp onto. The end was rushed and yet also drawn out (the last 30% was was too long, but the last 5% was truly silly).
3/5
