Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia 

Overall I loved this book, the story was so cool. The pace was a bit overly slow in the beginning and took me a long time to become invested. 

The vibes were perfect though, the atmosphere she created is well done. Definitely reminded me of a mix between the yellow wallpaper and annihilation (but better than either).

Excited to read more by this author, she spins a good tale! Her writing isn’t overly flowery, just enough to get a sense of place and time, perfect for those wanting to get into litfic but a bit intimidated!
