Let Us Descend by Jesmyn Ward
This was a hard listen, but poetic. I don’t think I could’ve read the book as the formatting would’ve driven me crazy.

I found myself getting a bit lost and distracted by the constant present of this spirit. I understand why a character would need to shift their focus under such awful circumstances, but I find it a bit uninteresting to listen to those parts. If it was more like the beginning this would have been a 5 star read.

But overall I love her prose and use of language to really drag us into this characters shoes.

I definitely want to read more by this author and I recommend the audiobook, the author narrated it and she was incredible.
