I had to delete my first review I had started. I went into this thinking I’d hate it, because I hated a novel love story by the same author, and Rebecca Serle’s book which feels similar.
But the romance in this felt very based in reality, and their arguments were reasonable and how things might actually be.
Now there was definitely weak points, things that were done solely to move the plot along, or silly chapter titles that gave too much away, her convo with Juliette at the hospital was forced and felt off, but the bones of the book were good. It started slow, but it unfolded nicely.
I do also think the FMC was a bit too “good” and it would have been nice to see more flaws, while Iwan (in the past) was much too perfect, though this makes sense to the story.
Solid rec, especially as a palette cleanser with a bit of heart.
