Book review: The Book of Goose

I found the writing distracting. I like a well told story, not a book about a girl telling a story, and it having that clear divide.

This might not be a big issue for some, but for me it immediately pulls me out of the actual story in order for Agnes to make some additional comments. This constant ying yang basically ruined the emersion for me.

If you must have both past and present, seperate with chapters, not all blended together making a messy story. Or do this once a chapter, not 50 times.

I ended up switching to audio just to finish this. It was much less distracting on audio, I would just zone out for the parts where it annoyed me.

There was also a lot of repetition, like the author thought us stupid – her and Fabienne are one person, her parents didn’t like Fabienne. This was written multiple times, and it really pissed me off. I’m not stupid, I heard you the first time.

This is the kind of litfic book that I don’t enjoy, overly descriptive and not very interesting. I don’t really have an positives to say, I really only read it to finish it
