Book review – Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

Hey so, I hated this.

The thing about this book is it has a very specific sense of humor, one that isn’t really my taste (overly scientific names of things to make them sound quirky and intelligent). Kind of Rick and Morty like.  And it just gets old.

Maybe if I read it when I was young I would love it, but it’s just not for me! I don’t love sci-fi and especially not a YA version. Though I did like a wrinkle it time, but that was more focused on the emotional journey. This isn’t.

It’s a bit cheesy and silly, and not really diving into characters and feelings. Just a to b. The massive undertaking and large scale of this book leaves a lot of details to fall by the wayside and details are my personal bread and butter.

Every single conflict resolved by coincidence, I was eye rolling heavily while reading this. Trying to smash the book onto my head to transfer the information so I could stop reading it.

If you don’t like sci-fi, I doubt this would be the book to change your mind. But I can see why others would love it.

The only good part was Marvin, the only reason it’s a 1.5 and not a 1
